Modern, inclusive therapy and Skype counselling in SE1 and online.

Talking to a therapist or counsellor can be the first step in discovering the causes of anxiety, depression or anger and making significant changes.

I’m always very happy to be part of the “is therapy right for me” conversation. If you find that’s a question you’re weighing up, individually or as a couple, there’s probably something interesting to talk about.

In the first session I will ask you to talk about what brings you to therapy and we’ll build up a general picture of your life so far and how you might like the future to be different. This session takes about an hour and is free.

I am a UKCP certified psychoanalytic psychotherapist and counsellor, working with people who have lost a sense of wellbeing, happiness or purpose in their lives. Though I'll start by asking you about your symptoms, we will also think about the deeper issues which may have caused them: we could think of this as a journey from management to change. Often people decide to come once or twice a week; with serious issues it may be more often. I often find a first meeting is the most helpful way of you talking through your problems and together we will decide what you might need and what way of working might suit you best.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, I am currently seeing some of my clients online via Skype, Zoom or over the phone: I am experienced in working in this way and have found people take to very naturally. It can take a bit of getting used to and some ground rules at the beginning help a lot. I know that for some people privacy is an issue when sharing their home: I will do my best to adapt your session time around this and suggest ways you can create a space where you may speak freely.

I believe there are many possibilities for your way forward through life and that therapy offers a space where you will find you can speak openly about yourself, sometimes for the first time.
